Most Reverend Metropolitan Kallistos of Diokleia

While looking for books on Orthodoxy on Amazon, came across "The Orthodox Church" and "The Orthodox Way" ... flipped over to Wikipedia, and very interesting story on the author,

From the links on the page, right in first paragraph of "The Orthodox Church" gave optimism that this is not the wrong path i.e.,

"Yet those who look more closely at this "unknown world" will discover much in it which, while different, is yet curiously familiar. "But that is what I have always believed!" Such has been the reaction of many, on learning more fully about the Orthodox Church and what it teaches; and they are partly right. For more than nine hundred years the Greek East and the Latin West have been growing steadily apart, each following its own way, yet in the early centuries of Christendom both sides can find common ground."

This was so refreshing and gave hope that this journey to learn more about the Orthodox faith I grew up in actually does reflect worship and study of Christ in pretty much close to how it was after the Ressurection of Our Lord. In the past,

So, in 1054 at the East-West Schism is when my life became difficult :) Need to read more, but think there is a strong argument that this is one of many milestones where Christianity became less Christian and more politics ..
