Nov 2007 - History made with the youngest elected to the Diocesan Assembly

The Lord really works in mysterious ways ... couple months ago we elected a former MGOCSM leader from the Chicago area who is less than 30 years old to represent our Church at the Diocesan meeting.

The nomination itself was the result of a half-joking statement to our Achens during the FOCUS Town Hall Meeting, and the surprise when both our Achens did not take it as a joke but as a serious recommendation.

We were in New York the weekend in November the Diocesan Meeting was held, and one will notice that I only blogged about the Holy Cross Qurbana and nothing about the Diocesan Meeting as I confess thinking what a huge waste of time the meeting was and that no good would happen.

So, with much happiness (and humility as God really has a plan), read the following from the Sabha Advocate blog a couple moments ago and how our Chicago representative had a part to play in the sequence of events!

The best line from the blog entry:

...the revolution has taken another important step..and hopefully God will use me to effectuate positive change to finally bring things back to where they need to be.

"Where they need to be" ... sweet. And the best part is without even ever have met him, I know exactly what he's driving for because his heart is with Christ.

Regardless of the politics and bureaucracy that will be faced by the Sunil Kurian (i.e., the Sabha Advocate), the fact will always remain that a door was opened on November 10th in New York and the closed minds of past "leaders" are opening along with it.

All these small steps will lead to an Indian Orthodox Church that truly glorifies and worships Christ, and becomes His hands, mouth, and feet in this world.
