I try not to mention specific names in this blog (as I didnt ask anyone's permission to write the nonsense that I write), but definitely kudos to Alan Alex of the Houston Church.

Really makes me feel even more frustrated ... as the chants, music and rhythm of our Church is so special. In Malayalam it sounds incredible. But, in the current translation to English it's just pulls it down.

I second what you said, about the chants being far more beautiful in Malayalam. I don't speak a lick of it, but I actually look forward to Qurbana in Malayalam every other Sunday!

haha .. yeah, when I look back there are things I wrote that really seems from a different person.

I think a part of the reason we enjoy the songs in any language is we understand the Liturgy ... which I'm really believe 95% of the folks do not. And when I say "understand", I don't mean are familiar but truly get spiritually moved.

For most, theology is primarily from their living Church, and as such we need to keep pushing for better translations so that people can just fall in love. God willing, the English translations will be completed this year ... they are supposed to discuss in the Synod meetings.
